Sallie Clark proposed to sell off Bear Creek Park to developers for $14 million dollars in order to cover a $13 million dollar budget shortfall at the county for 2009. This is the reason for the movement to fund a parks program in order to keep these lands as public lands for all to enjoy in perpetuity!

This kind of short-sighted planning, to solve a problem Sallie is partially responsible for is why we need to pay attention to every single action taken by county officials and yet another reason to limit the time the commissioners serve !
