Ever since my ministry days studing to be a Minister, no Christian or religious person can explain Adam & Eve, Noah's Arc, or the birth of Christ measured against known facts and science. How did we get from cave man to modern man? You can't just ignore the bones of our ancestors when they are trying to tell us something about ourselves.

EVOLUTIONARY ‘GAME CHANGER’: FOSSIL MAY BE HUMAN ANCESTOR
Scientists say a set of 2-million-year-old fossils could be a key link in the process of evolution that led to modern human beings.

"The team says the new species may be the best candidate yet for the immediate ancestor of our genus, Homo," wrote Michael Balter of the Science staff in an overview piece. "That last claim is a big one, and few scientists are ready to believe it themselves just yet."
TJR COOK, thanks for all the information, but I am not impressed by the "higher criticism," of almost all of these "bible scholars." Most, if not all, deny the basic doctrines of Orthodox Christianity and have zero credibility with a truly regenerated Christian.

I'm familiar with all the various theories about who did or did not write the gospels, etc., and most of those theories have been debunked.

No, what these "higher critics," people like the Jesus Seminar really are, are a group of loony tunes to most fundamental, bible-believing Christians.

BTW, there is zero proof that the four gospel were all written after 70 A.D. For every theory that the unbeliever comes up with, there have been scholars that defend the traditional views.

Nice try, but the value that these "scholars" contribute to the understanding of the bible, could be written on the back of a postage stamp.

I am always amazed at the statements of Christians about their faith with their convoluted concept of "Salvation" (and of course, the eternal damnation that comes with it, damning unbelievers like me), their faith that the primitive stories told in the Bible are true, and their substantiation of prophecies based on far-out readings of ancient verses. Thus they defend childish theories like Creationism and fight the evidence-based theory of evolution.

"HighPlainsTraveler" ....kudos for pointing out quite possibly THE most ludicrous story in the bible. Of course I was only using their own fairy tales to illustrate their God's rampaging temper that is so evident in the old testament, sparing no one, even innocent babies, in his rage.

Let's see - first pairs of polar bears and kangaroos, not to mention every other species on earth, traveled to Syria or Turkey or wherever old Noah was hanging out.

"think again" but I doubt you have the figures to back up that at the time of Noah's flood there were a billion people on earth. Besides, the modern-day slaughter of those billion babies took place without them being given the opportunity to survive.

      Jealous?? I don't think so.
After our infamous congressperson's remarks a couple of weeks ago put him in the national light and brought on numerous protests in and around his Colorado Springs office, a sign was posted saying it is "Private Property" - "No Protesting"
Excuse me, but I think a congressman's office is a public place, if there ever was one.

In answer to JML CASSIAN :

Who was the greatest MASS MURDERER in history?? AND ABORTIONIST??

Sorry, but it was YOUR GOD......namely during THE FLOOD of Noah's time, (which killed hundreds of thousands of babies and pregnant women) and with Miscarriage (spontaneous abortion) most of which are performed by your god.

Jerry Newsom, right on!! Also, I get tired of the constant complaining that there are not enough people paying into Social Security to keep the fund in the black.

Well, aside from the fact that our crooked politicians robbed the fund to pay for their pet projects, I would imagine there would have been plenty of people to pay into the fund if society had not legally murdered around 50,000,000 babies since 1973.
