Thanks for the compliment, although I wonder how you can recognize common sense when you run across it.

My conclusions are the based on years of study, observation, and analysis. They are not half-baked solutions dictated by "common sense."

When you use the term "unwashed masses," I recommend putting it within quotation marks, as I just have, to indicate that this is the point of view of the politicians and big-money interests, and not your own opinion.

The word "literal" is the wrong term technically for what I was driving at. I was pointing out that the so-called free market is theoretical model that is useful as a tool of economic analysis, but should not be confused with reality.

The only problem with that solution is that there is no such thing as "the unencumbered free market." At best it is a basis for a mathematical model of some aspect of economic theory.

As for the libertarian tea party platform, yes please all should have a look at Ron Paul's tea party worldview:

Ron Paul is a libertarian theocrat who is just as nuts as the Christian Reconstructionists he associates with (like Gary North, Mr. "Biblical Capitalism" himself).
