Two points from the above:
- I'm proud of our Army, but by the time our Army landed on D-Day in June 1944, the better part of the German Army lay dead in the snows of Russia, which is what paved the way for our dash to Berlin.
- The western world owes Russia a huge debt of gratitude for their sacrifices in WW-II as they were the ones who bore the full brunt of Hitler's brutality.

None of what I said should be construed as a defense of the murderous dictator Stalin, or of the USSRs aggressive push to expand communism after the war.
