A performance nothing short of amazing.
Very danceable, straight ahead Rockin' Blues in the 'Texas Flood' style of Stevie Ray Vaughan (Rolling Stone once said CD was the only heir apparent to SRV), with that same Kick of truly inspired virtuoso Guitar work that both left folks sweaty from dancing, and shaking their heads, smiling.
Drummer and Bass are top-notch, super tight, up the challenge of backing such an amazing soloist, and the whole package had the whole place rocking from the get go. That is, when we weren't just staring in disbelief.
This is a performer who somehow keeps improving, varying styles, and rewarding the listener/dancer, despite having been the best guitarist for thousands of miles wherever he goes, for many years now.
I'm an electric-oriented Rock guy, and have seen a lot of the players on most folks "Top 100 Guitar Solos" list, in some different styles- Nuno, Adrian Belew, Ted, Eddie VH, John Lee Hooker, Zappa, Lifeson, Robin Trower, Tommy Emmanuel, to mention a few- and this guy Live is the kind of Phenom that not only satisfies like the rest, but blows people's minds.
Don't miss him next time he's in the area.
