The last quote -- from me -- is taken totally and completely out of context. And unfortunately, it appears intentional to simply make a rather weak point.
I was referring to the The Sun's beginning 15 years ago when we were just getting things rolling to launch the Sun.

It won't be long now....the patient is almost dead....

When the end comes....join me in a rousing chorus of "Ding Dong, The Witch is Dead."

The Gazette's passing is a self-inflicted wound, noted in the quote from Mr. Shackford, who wrote: ""editorial-page editors "were expected to advance libertarian philosophy," and how publishers and editors at the company would attend annual management conferences nicknamed "Freedom School.""

Mr. Shackford wasn't kidding. Numerous "Our View" articles at the Gazette were ridiculously padded with an overuse of the word "freedom," so much so that some of the pieces seemed to mock the "Floyd R Turbo" mentality of gun fanatics and gratuitous flag wavers.
