The Sheriff is probably right...he needs the money to do the job, but I need my money to feed my family, as do most people who like me are already taxed to death...and looks Barrack is going to be back and the republicans are going to let higher taxes go through just to show everyone how bad it can get so we will elect one of them next time around...which will be too late, we will have become a socialist police state by then and the sheriff will at long last get his money.

Thank you for clarifying the exact wording used. In previous tax measures, most noticeably the major tax hike request of 2008, the fact there was no dedicated use, by amount, for future funding seemed to be a major reason for the failure of the measures to pass.

Donna, The words bait and switch are mine, not Commissioner Lathen's. She said commissioners wouldn't use the new sheriff's tax money for general fund purposes; I chose to use bait and switch to explain her position.

Yea...vote for a new tax so Maketa will have the money to get drunk in strip clubs and try to get sex from the employees working there. If they had enough money to do this in the past......I DONT THINK THEY NEED ANY MORE MONEY TO WASTE!!!!!!!!!!

      From Commissioner Lathen:

" - - - meaning commissioners wouldn't bait and switch the voters by claiming for general-fund purposes the new tax revenue." (Full text of quote above).

This is most interesting: will not 'bait and switch'

Leads one to believe 'bait and switch' HAS been used in the past?

Please take our poll and give your thoughts on the two tax measures on this ballot and on how the term limit issue has influenced your voting intent for the Dist 3 race:

Note: this is a 'push site' to Stop Sallie Clark as a means to bring an end to the need for statements as the one above.
