Your points are well taken, because that is the portrait of Christianity painted in various newspapers with articles like this one. My point is that if you attended one of the mainline churches in town you would find a much more reasonable and correct picture of Christian faith and practice that you might even find attractive and compelling.

      <![CDATA[Who knows what Christian nationalism is, but the faith of our fathers is the root for America exceptionalism, which without the whole world falls into chaos, as it is currently doing as teh world devolves as we more and more marginalize the faith of the functional and replace it with the arrogance and hubris of the dysfunctional.

      <![CDATA[How interesting that preachers can interpret God's word to favor the candidate of their choice and then tell their congregations that a vote for the "wrong" candidate will send good folks to hell... and we subsidize their ability to do so!<br>
<br>
So - if some pastors are for Obama and others are for Romney, how exactly can we tell which congregations are following The Word? God's message is once again intercepted by the ego of his creation.
