El Paso County is entering an era of greater economic uncertainty as our main economic driver, the five military bases with various defense contractors, faces likely federal government funding cuts.

Study after study show that sports stadiums very rarely are positive economic multipliers.

Now is not a time for our local governments and CSU to follow Bach and his allies in creating the financial boondoggle of replacing the plant with a professional baseball stadium. By renovating the Drake Power Plant we can insure that households (especially those with lower-incomes) do not see exorbitantly rising utility bills.

This region has had a long history of irresponsible policies backed by mediocre developers, such as Bach, leading to overextended, underfunded local government services.

Let us elect a new cadre of elected officials who will make better, analytically sound decisions.

Our community just does not have much margin of error to do otherwise.

Just to clarify: this one statement made in your video (in the middle of an election, in which he wants to get his people elected to city council) does not negate the documented secret meetings he has participated in to sell or lease the electric generation portion of CSU. People have gone on record to say that behind closed doors he has wants to pull cash from the utility department to fund the city's short fall in revenue, and has backers for his strong mayor campaign that are all developers that would benefit greatly from the sale or lease of the utilities.
