A weekly photographic feature 

Titled "Pin-Up Pleater," this sculpture was created by Heather Oelklaus, using an iron found at a local thrift store and an image found on the Internet. In it, she seeks to convey the feeling of being two women in one  the domestic mom and the beautiful sex symbol  a split personality which society seems to expect from women. This piece, along with a variety of 2D prints, will be showing at Artazia Gallery & Frame, 2521 W. Colorado Ave., Suite A, 477-0632. Her work will also be on exhibit in After Darkat the Tri-Lakes Center opening on July 6. - HEATHER OELKLAUS

The Independent seeks compelling images for InSight, our new weekly photographic feature. Entries may be submitted electronically or by mail, and need to be at least 5" x 7". Electronic images must be at least 200 lines per inch in a jpeg or tiff format and should be emailed to art@csindy.com (please include "InSight submission" in subject line). Prints or disks may be mailed to The Colorado Springs Independent, 121 E. Pikes Peak Ave., Suite 455, Colorado Springs, CO 80903, attn. Art Director. (Include a s.a.s.e. if you would like it returned.) Please include some basic biographical information (your name, age, address, etc.), as well as a short caption explaining the content of the photograph or how it was taken.
