Abducting Diana

When: Oct. 19-Nov. 4 2012
Price: $10, $5 for students with ID

"Diana is ruthless, corrupt, exploitative, murderous, matricidal, and tyrannical ... but in America these days, what media tycoon isn't?" That's Sean Verdu, director of THEATREdART's Season 6 opener, Abducting Diana. This comedy follows the bungled kidnapping of the titular character, who turns the tables on her captors in such a Rebekah Brooks-esque way that the characters wonder who has the exclusive media rights to her abduction. Add in "a gun-toting priest, a deranged altar boy, a kidnapper hiding in the fridge" ... and you've got some madcap media satire. Catch the play today, or any Friday through Sunday, at 8 p.m. through Nov. 4 at TdA (128 N. Nevada Ave., theatredart.org). Tickets run $5 to $10. — Edie Adelstein
