Art alert: Look up before you fly

If you find yourself walking down the main (and only) concourse of our perky little airport, look up!

Thanks to Bill Geary and other volunteer art mavens, some of the wonderful paintings that Mary Chenoweth did in the last years of her life are displayed, unframed, hanging from the ceiling as if they were banners.

Mary worked in Colorado Springs for close to half a century, taught at Colorado College and would make anybody's list of Colorado's best artists of the century. These paintings are big, joyful explosions of color, scarcely confined by Chenoweth's playful geometries.

Look up, smile, and hope that you can be as radiant at 80-plus!
