There's a new Best Artist in Colorado Springs. A new Best Realtor, too. And a new Best Twitterer, Place for a Blind Date, Place to Buy a Thoughtful, Inexpensive Gift ...
We could go on, but well, that's what the next 40-odd pages are for. Suffice to say that although some perennial favorites reside among the winners in our second and final Best Of Colorado Springs 2011 issue, there are also some surprises. Our city's changing, folks, and not just because every municipal employee seems to be getting fired, stepping down, or "voluntarily" springing for an "I Steve Bach" neck tattoo.
So we hope you enjoy learning about what's new and otherwise noteworthy in the pages to follow. The photos come from Brienne Boortz, Sean Cayton, Casey Bradley Gent, Bryan Oller and Kin Scott. And the writing is courtesy of Bree Abel, Edie Adelstein, Kirsten Akens, Sam Benesby, Whitney Bryen, Suzie Calvin, Ellie Cole, Bryce Crawford, Cherise Fantus, Bill Forman, Chet Hardin, Lynn Jacobs, Mary Jo Meade, Monika Mitchell Randall, Ralph Routon, Matthew Schniper, J. Adrian Stanley, Claire Swinford, Rhonda Van Pelt, Kirk Woundy, Bret Wright and Pam Zubeck.
One last note: Make it all the way through the Best Of section, and you'll be rewarded at the end with a new winner in one of Indy readers' favorite categories, Colorado Springs Claim to Shame. As you'll see, it takes a special blend of talent, tar and turpentine to ascend to such an exalted status.
