Whether landlocked immigrants from the Midwest or border dwellers from the land of the holiday chili ristra, when lovers of Mexican food come to Colorado Springs, they head to La Tacqueria Unica. Located in the heart of the chalk-outline district, the white corn tortillas may not exactly be to die for, but they're well worth a detour and a pit stop. Boasting exotic tacos including tongue and cheek meat, the tortillas practically dissolve in your hands. Each plate comes with a fresh lime to squirt over your food, and although most enthusiasts are speechless while enjoying a meal, one patron described her experience as "fucking heaven in your mouth."
