This is a past event.

When: Sept. 2-Oct. 7 2011

A discerning reader like yourself never goes to art openings for food. That's why you're all about tonight's 5 o'clock soft opening of Chrysalis, a faculty art exhibit at Pikes Peak Community College's Downtown Studio Gallery (100 W. Pikes Peak Ave.,, which promises pieces responding to the concepts of chrysalis and cross pollination by Laura BenAmots, Lance Timco and others. In Manitou Springs, meanwhile, Swirl Wine Bar (717 Manitou Ave., #102, hosts the first of its new docket of group shows, with works by Kris Chavez (pictured above), Lance Green, Tylan Troyer and Phil Lear, to name a few. This two-month affair doesn't have a reception until Oct. 1, but you can order yourself some wine and cheese, right? Well if not, check out the Commons Gallery downtown, or Domino in Old Colorado City for their receptions. — Edie Adelstein
