As of Oct. 12, the political action committee that organized to head the campaign to pass the District 11 mill-levy override reported $50,525 in contributions. The campaign's major contributors include:
Edison Schools (a New York charter school corporation): $15,000
Development Management Inc. (developers whose principals include David Jenkins, Kent A. Petre and Stephen D. Hart): $10,000
Holme Roberts & Owen (a law firm whose clients include D-11): $5,000
The Greater Colorado Springs Housing and Building Association: $5,000
The Broadmoor hotel: $5,000
G.E. Johnson contractors: $3,000
Colorado Education Assocation PAC: $2,000
DCA Architects: $500
District 11 Elementary School Principals Association: $400
Glenn Gustafson: $350
Franklin Bernard: $200
Karol Marten-McGuire: $200
William K. Brown: $200
Chipeta Elementary PTA: $200
As of the same date, the PAC listed $11,977 in expenditures, including $2,300 in reimbursements to the Colorado Springs Education Association. CSEA director Dan Koen is running the campaign, with former City Councilwoman Mary Ellen McNally serving as treasurer.
