Style of music, in 10 words or less: "Gypsy Jazz"

Three artists they owe everything to: Django Reinhardt, Gonzalo Bergara, Stephane Grappelli

Members: Archtop Eddy (guitar, vocals), Stefan Doucette (guitar), David Siegel (violin), Brian Hofflander (bass)

Debut performance: 1998

Recordings: Sonando Rojo (2011), Indigo Dreams (2012), Valse Sonnekai (2013)

Why they matter: Mango fan Django have been playing together, with slightly shifting lineups, for more than one and a half decades, or at least three times longer than most indie groups who've jumped on the bohemian-revivalist bandwagon. The quartet's technically daunting repertoire of acoustic instrumental music follows in the tradition of Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grappelli and other European pioneers whose names are considerably less well-known outside gypsy jazz circles. The group has taken home a first-place award in each of the four years since the IMAs' inception, and with a new album on the way, you can expect it to keep the gypsy jazz tradition alive and well in Colorado Springs for years to come.

2nd place: Moonhoney

3rd place: Colorado Springs Big Jazz Band
