Downtown Olympic Celebration & Rocky Mountain State Games Opening Ceremonies

When: Fri., July 25, 5 p.m. 2014
tiny.cc/mxa7ix

I hate to say that the appearance of Miles the Mascot and the Denver Broncos' cheerleaders are the best part of the Olympic Downtown Celebration (tiny.cc/2rw3ix), but dammit, the season is only something like 40 days away. For others, there's fire, music, a Switchbacks fútbol zone, the nefariously named "AT&T Experience," where they probably hand you a piece of plastic then steal $200 from your wallet and kick you in the shins, and more. The festival is also celebrating the opening of the Rocky Mountain State Games — because, even though it seems like they never end, the Olympics aren't happening this year — so get yo-self to downtown Colorado Springs' Tejon Street, where the fun starts at 5.
