Eco-Art Market

When: Dec. 4-23 2009

Despite recession-era budgets, gifts can still be affordable, locally made and even eco-friendly. Hence Smokebrush Gallery's December Eco-Art Market (218 W. Colorado Ave., #111, smokebrush.org). For funky functionality, check out garden hose baskets by Chase DeForest and found-object robot and rocket artwork by Jimmy Descant. The show opens with a reception from 5 to 8 tonight and will offer extended holiday hours: Saturdays through Dec. 19 from noon to 5 p.m., and Mondays through Fridays until Dec. 23 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The best part, though? As one work is bought off the wall, another will take its place. — Edie Adelstein
