Are you one of those? You know, always whining to your friends about how Colorado Springs has no avant-garde theater?
Well, get off your high horse this weekend and go and see Frankenstein, adapted and performed by the Manhattan-based performance group, The Flying Machine.
In the hallowed tradition of theater first playing outside of New York to see how it flies, we're about to see a genuine new work before it goes to Gotham. Usually, the lucky ones live in New Haven, Conn., or Williamstown, Mass. Now it is our turn.
By all accounts, The Flying Machine is the group to put on this literary adaptation of Mary Shelley's masterpiece. They won the 1997 "Best of the Fringe" award for the New York Fringe Festival and they've gotten rave reviews from the New York Times and Time Out New York for other literary adaptations.
The question is: Will it play in Peoria, er, Colorado Springs? Go see for yourself and stop whining.
