Welcome to the Indy's Fall Arts Preview, our annual roundup of the season's arts and culture happenings as we know them. Here, we aim to supply you not only with a calendar of the biggest shows and performances slated for the next three months, but also a slice of the A&E whos and whats you may or may not know about.
Most of you are aware of that big to-do with Christo and (the late) Jeanne-Claude's "Over the River" proposal for the Arkansas River. But you may not know all the facts behind it, so we'll try to square that away. You're also likely aware that the Colorado Springs Philharmonic has chosen five candidates to replace retiring conductor Lawrence Leighton Smith; we'll introduce you to the first two. And while you may have all the street-smarts when it comes to wringing out the arts scene for a few bucks, we have a $1.99 app for a locally published steampunk 'zine you can land on your iPhone. Finally, while we're all painfully aware of the vampire/werewolf craze that's taken the known world hostage, we found a decidedly local spin on the phenomenon, one you actually might enjoy. Who knew?
