Fallen soldiers

Paying tribute to the men and women of Fort Carson

This Thanksgiving, our hearts are with the soldiers who have been mobilized to action, and those who have faced the agony of losing their family members and friends in Iraq.

Since the war ended in April, 31 soldiers from units attached to Fort Carson have died. Since September, photojournalist Sean Cayton has attended the memorial services of 10 of those soldiers. Images from these memorials appear on this and following pages.

Our friends at Fort Carson, including the families and friends of the fallen and injured soldiers from the Mountain Post, are invited -- along with the public -- to view Cayton's images from the soldiers' memorials at an exhibition on Tuesday, Dec. 9.

The exhibition, to honor our soldiers, will be at the Elbo Room at The Ritz downtown, 15 S. Tejon, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

We hope to see you there.
