Every day, nine U.S. children are diagnosed with a brain tumor. You can help by joining the Running for Rachael 5K. Proceeds will go to treatment, cure and prevention efforts at the Brain Tumor Institute at Children's National Medical Center.

Learn how you can impact poverty in other countries by purchasing fair-trade products. See Black Gold, a film about the injustices of the coffee industry, and participate in a coffee tasting of fair-trade coffees. Proceeds benefit the Roots and Wings Guatemala Scholarship Fund.

Just one hour is all you need. Join citizens worldwide in an event to create awareness about energy conservation by shutting off all non-essential lights and electrical appliances for one hour. Celebrate with a candle-lit dinner, a living room "campout" with the kids, or create a new tradition.
