D-11 board treasurer and Colorado PTA board member Janet Tanner says that if elected, she would work to bring agreement to the board.
"If you have fewer people willing to fight, there will be less fighting," she says.
"Since '03, it's been a 4-3 split. I don't think our city is split 4-3."
Tanner, who circulated petitions in the End the D11 Chaos campaign, has been endorsed by the offshoot group Citizens for Quality Public Education. She also has the support of the district's teachers' union.
A bookkeeper for her husband's Domino's Pizza franchise and a D-11 mother, Tanner worked on Karen Teja and David Linebaugh's school board campaigns in 2001. She volunteered for Tami Hasling's run in 2005.
"They call me "status quo,'" she says of her most vocal detractors, including board member Craig Cox, who recently slammed her on his new blog. "I would hate to make a huge decision without consensus."
