We always say, and have always said, that if nothing else, Colorado Springs is a story-rich town. Ten years ago, responding to a deadening drought of respectable local news and arts coverage, the Independent launched. While plodding through a decade's worth of newspapers for this compilation -- from news to entertainment to the plain bizarre -- we laughed, we cried, we hooted in disbelief. We even experienced catastrophic end-of-the-world nightmares. The following pages chronicle the many events that have helped define our city and have graced the pages of its largest locally owned newspaper, your newspaper. Enjoy.
