IQ: One last look back

It's not often that a new decade comes along, and the Indy wants to see what people think of the 2000s. Whether it has seemed dynamic or slow, painful or full of joy, we can all agree it's been an interesting 10 years.

Between the economy, Sept. 11 and George Bush, what had the biggest effect on the country? I would say 9/11, then George Bush, because without George Bush the economy wouldn't be this messed up and there would be no war.

How is your view different from 10 years ago? It's way different, because you can't get a job [easily].

What would you change about the past decade and why? I would change 9/11 because it's not only Americans that died.

What are you looking forward to in the next decade? Getting myself together.

How is your view different from 10 years ago? I've been a bum for about eight years off and on. You live out here and people are really nice, and you get to see the good side of people.

What would you change about the past decade and why? I would change the fact that you didn't give me a million dollars right now because if you did, I would have a million dollars.

What are you looking forward to in the next decade? I would like to see things get back to the way it used to be where people appreciated other people, they helped people out ... We've lost all that.

How is your view different from 10 years ago? I'm a little bit more involved in politics now that I have more time, but I've always been country first.

What would you change about the past decade and why? I would change the way parents have treated their children. They've given them way too much.

How is your view different from 10 years ago? It's probably got a little worse due to how the economy is and jobs. Ten years ago it was a little more laid back, but now it's harder going.

What are you looking forward to in the next decade? Better way of life. Better jobs, more jobs. For me personally, just keep being happy.
