Pundits are predicting an anger-fueled, far-right landslide in the November election. And in Colorado in 2010, "far right" goes beyond the usual Republican platform, all the way to Tom Tancredo's American Constitution Party candidacy.
What's the most important issue facing Colorado? Jobs. Without a healthy private sector, there's no healthy public sector.
What do you make of all the present antagonism toward government? People are going off in so many tangents that there's no way to gauge what's really going on. Some want to abolish government altogether, some want the government to hold their hands.
Which best describes you: the Democratic Party, the Republican Party, the Tea Party, or a wine-and-cheese party? I'm a center-right, registered Republican. Once they start bringing in Tom Tancrazy, though, they've lost me.
If you could change one thing in our political system, what would it be? Create a pot of money at each level to finance campaigns so that you don't have to be a super-charismatic, crazy-rich person to run for office.
What do you make of the current groundswell of anti-government sentiment? We've swung too far to the left and right, and those folks are finding common ground over disappointment in politics.
What best characterizes you: the Democratic Party, the Republican Party, the Tea Party, or a wine-and-cheese party? I'm not tea party material, and I'm not quite in wine-and-cheese-party land yet. Basically, I'm still a Democrat.
What do you make of the current hostility toward government? That would have happened no matter who won the election and was currently in office.
Will you vote on Nov. 2 out of civic duty or because you're riled up? I've lived all over the world. We have no idea how fortunate we are to live in a place where we can express ideas and vote.
Name something you'd change in our political system. I'd require every politician to spend at least two weeks working at an average job, and have to live in that environment and off that income. Then maybe they'd "get it."
Do you lean toward the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, the Tea Party, or a wine-and-cheese party? None of the above. I vote for the candidate, not the party.
So sweet! I've adopted two dogs from Best Fur Friends and I'm sure there will…
Hey Rocky, Congress was supposed to control the President but FDR started shifting that power…
