IQ: Turkey Talk

We've got plenty of things to be thankful for this year -- the impeachment is over, Newt's got a new girl, and Charlie Duke and Kevin Tebedo will be running for public office in 2000. We've got Y2K disasters and, of course, the Rapture to look forward to. If those don't bear out, in just one month, we get to unload this whole stinking millennium and start fresh.

Who has the most thankless job in the world? Garbagemen. If we didn't have garbagemen -- all our stuff would pile up, and we'd have maggots, and stink. People think garbagemen are dirty people, but they're not.

What should we thank Bill Clinton for? Nothing. Not a thing.

What should we thank the Republicans for this year? I'm not sure what the Republicans have done this year, actually.

What 20th century invention should we be most grateful for? The record player.

Who has the most thankless job? Probably our senators and congressmen.

What should we thank Bill Clinton for? For destroying the Democratic majority in only two years instead of the four years that I gave him.

What should we thank the Republicans for this year? We should thank both Bill Clinton and the Republicans for absolutely deadlocking Congress, because not doing anything is what the country needs right now.

What 20th century invention should we be most grateful for? Cold-food storage.

What's your favorite course at Thanksgiving? Without a doubt, it's the stuffing with gravy

Who has the most thankless job in the world? I s'pose an Internal Revenue Service agent.

What should we thank Bill Clinton for? For holding steady on the economy.

What should we thank the Republicans for this year? Keeping down that expense of government as much as possible and keeping them from raising taxes too much.

What 20th century invention should we be most grateful for? Saran Wrap. Nothing like it to keep my sandwiches fresh.

What's your favorite course at Thanksgiving? Well, of course I love the turkey and dressing, and mashed potatoes and gravy.
