Roll over, Beethoven Jazz, rock, R&B, bluegrass, classical, country and western, religious, New Age, easy listening, rap music serves a huge range of functions and variety of listeners.

The Colorado Springs - police saying hip-hop concerts are unsafe is pretty - heavy-handed. -  - Does contemporary music have a subversive edge? - Music is pretty commercial now that Clear Channel - owns everything. Independent groups don't have much - of a voice.

I don't - listen to it but I know the station I listen to plays - Christian rap sometimes. -  - Do you think it negatively impacts young people? If they're listening to it on the Christian station, at - least they don't have to hear "kill your mother" or "kill - your sister" or some of the other lyricsthey can hear a - Christian message instead. I've always told my kids that - a person may look scary on the outside, like with tattoos - or piercings, but if they have a pure heart, they can reach - people that someone like me can't.
