Dear Mr. Barber:
Please accept my condolences on the Board of County Commissioners' recent decision to reject the Baptist Road Wal-Mart proposal.
I know you stood to gain a sweet sum from that deal and as I've always said, An injury to one developer is an injury to all.
I was indeed moved by your speech at the BOCC hearing. Even if it didn't look too good that the only person to speak in favor of the project was the developer selling the land, you made some cogent arguments -- for instance, your vaguely spiritual claim that the land is only ours temporarily. Wow. Deep. Especially since this temporarily owned land is making you quite rich.
Oh, and let's not forget your incredulous remark that you couldn't possibly understand how neighbors wouldn't want such a responsible neighbor like Wal-Mart.
Just curious whether you live in a cave or in a subterranean bunker? I like to avoid reality sometimes and you seem quite skilled at it. What's your secret?
Thank you Patience for turning the dialogue on Black History Month inward and showing how…
