Dear WholesomeWear:

Delighted to see your line of modest swimsuits for women. But why nothing for men? Despite the baggy shorts epidemic, I find that men now feel compelled to join the arms race of upsettingly revealing fashion. I blame the metrosexuals.

As you're surely aware, men's bodies make it difficult to produce modest swim trunks. Water, especially cold salt water, makes visible that which we most want to conceal. It is unflattering to say the least, and potentially disastrous for single men of certain ethnic and/or religious affiliations.

Nevertheless, I think there's some possibilities for men's trunks that might be explored by a clever designer sensitive to the male predicament. I'm thinking of some sort of crotch corset that buttons down the offending genitalia to the point of obscurity, followed by an additional layer of fabric.

Please let me know what you think and whether or not this is something you might produce. If it is, I have a friend who's sure to be your first customer.

Sincerely,

Kenneth Cleaver Read the Response.
