Feminism, it seems, has entered its third wave, and Jennifer Baumgardner and Amy Richards have written a book about it! The authors (Authoresses? Is that third wave? Ah, sweet ignorance) of Manifesta: Young Women, Feminism, and the Future, will be discussing "Third Wave Feminism and Activism Today," at 7:30 p.m., at Gates Common Room, third floor, Palmer Hall on the CC campus. Local photographers Larry Hampton and Lee Manning are having a show, and they'd like you to come. Today through Feb. 18, the Commonwheel Artists Co-op will be hosting Nicaraguan Pottery: A Benefit Show for Potters for Peace. The show will consist of some gorgeous sculptural and functional pieces created by indigenous clay artists from Nicaragua. All proceeds go to Potters for Peace, a group aiming to provide assistance to pottery groups and individuals working for preservation of cultural inheritance. The funds from this show will benefit the Ceramic Water Filter Projects throughout Latin America, Africa and Southeast Asia.
