The Declaration of Independence Road Trip arrives in Colorado Springs today. One of 25 original copies of the Declaration will be available for public viewing at the Pikes Peak Library District's 1905 Carnegie Library from June 2 through June 11. Accompanying the document will be a video music performance titled America the Beautiful, featuring the likes of (gasp!) Amy Grant, (gasp!) Vince Gill and Mr. Bullet-in-Your-Ass Himself, Toby Keith. (Sadly, the Dixie Chicks will not appear.) Also included in the bonanza is on-site voter registration, a short film by Rob Reiner and Norman Lear (of Sanford & Son and Good Times fame), and voting education booths for the young 'uns.
