Presidential candidate Donald Trump visited UCCS on July 29, drawing quite the crowd of protesters and supporters alike. The Springs might well be as divided as the rest of the country when it comes to the Republican nominee.

Trump's recent visit to Colorado Springs raised some eyebrows. What do you make of his run-in with the fire marshal? That was very rude. I heard on Facebook that he wasn't very nice, but I wasn't there. I won't go to anything that guy's at.
How would you feel living under President Trump? I'd rather live somewhere else. He's just got a big mouth and he's going to get someone into a war if they don't assassinate him first. Someone that rude and racist has no business being president.
What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator with The Donald? I'd just hope I have headphones so I can turn it up and I don't have to listen to his big mouth.

What are your thoughts about the different party platforms? I think a third party needs to stand up. Independent, Green Party, something. I think the majority of people are disappointed in both right now.
Which way do you think Colorado is going to lean in the November election? Hopefully Democrat.
Why "hopefully?" Because I live here.
What would it be like living in a Trump presidency? I'd just move to Canada, or Mexico, or anywhere. I'm afraid his racism, bigotry and hatred will spread and we will take two steps back from all the progress we've made.

How did you feel about Trump coming to town? I didn't think much about it. I knew he was here and a lot of people were talking about it. A lot of people weren't very excited.
How do you feel about the prospect of President Trump? I don't know, he's pretty racist, isn't he? I think I'm safe because I'm in his — well, he's like Hitler. Isn't that what they say? But I think he'd do better than Hillary. With the scandals she runs? I think she should be in jail.
If you had the power, how would you "make America great?" I would try to run this country like the Greeks. They would get together to make decisions, and it would be unanimous, for the people. Trump is so anti-everything, and I'm pro-everything. He's trying to act like he's not, just to get votes, but he's sexist, racist, prejudiced ... what a guy.
