She developed a wide, loyal following through the past two decades as the region's most prominent writer on the subject of outdoor recreation.
Name it, and Deb has done it. She has experienced and written about hiking and biking, exploring open space, camping, birding, running and more. She even chronicled the life of Waldo, her beloved Labrador.
So when we decided to enhance the Independent's Earth Day issue by promoting outdoor recreation along with environmental protection, our first thought was to seek out Deb Acord.
Without hesitation, she agreed to provide several pieces for this issue (starting on page 18) focusing on how to check out the area's open space, what's involved with birding and a roundup of helpful gear for various activities.
Deb's credibility is long- established, and we feel many Indy readers will be as excited as we are to see her in print here. We're also hoping this will lead to other stories and packages.
If you feel the same way, please let us (and Deb) know.
