At the risk of taking this column's title too literally, the time has come to discuss Inaiah Lujan's haircut.
A few weeks ago, the Haunted Windchimes co-founder was all hair and beard, as you can see from our cover photo. Between that photo session and the interview, however, a change had come over Inaiah, specifically the ouster of his beard and a large portion of hair, as you can see from our story's opening photo.
"Nice George Harrison haircut," I offered.
"Thanks, he was my favorite Beatle," Inaiah responded.
And so began our interview. But that's not where the story ends. It turns out that, a few days earlier, a reliable source had talked with Inaiah in a club and also commented on the makeover. The band's going to be on the cover of the Independent, Inaiah explained, and this way he would be able to avoid being recognized after the issue came out.
Not surprisingly, the Haunted Windchimes are more into their music than their image or fame, although Inaiah may have gone a bit overboard in his estimation of a cover story's influence.
In any event, we both learned something: Always bring a photographer along, and never get your hair cut before the story's gone to press.
