Best Of 2012: Musical Instruments Store

In his book Outliers: The Story of Success, Malcolm Gladwell proposes that it takes 10,000 hours of practice to achieve greatness at a particular skill. The local business serves students of all ages, from elementary school kids to adult retirees in New Horizon groups, offering not just equipment but private music lessons, sheet music and instrument repairs. Ken Hamman, co-owner and manager, says you can depend on Meeker for "pretty much everything but acoustic pianos." — Darcie Mankell
