Yes, Dakota made it to the final episode of America's Got Talent last year. Precious few artists are less known in their hometown than they are throughout the country, but this Monument native might well be one of them.

When it comes to contemporary music, America's Got Talent isn't necessarily everyone's idea of the cutting edge. But singing "American Woman" on one of the best-known shows in TV history is still pretty impressive. Especially given the fact that he was trading verses with Lenny Kravitz.

The Differents' original material leans heavily toward the soulful side of the blues-rock spectrum. While they don't play in Colorado Springs all that often, you can catch them at the Mansion on Oct. 1.

After Miguel's performance on America's Got Talent, former Spice Girl Mel B asked him if he has a girlfriend.

Second place: GOYA

Third place: Chauncey Crandall
