More or less We've all had occasions when the wine, women (or men) and song no matter how good, no matter how fun became a bit too much. Sometimes, a little less fun is more fun.

Air Force officer What's your favorite music spot? Locally, it's America the Beautiful Park. They show movies and bring in live bands. It's outside, it's beautiful, it's free, the music's good.
Describe an occasion of musical overindulgence. One summer we followed The Dead, hitting five different arenas in a week and a half. The parking lots of that scene were even more amazing than the concerts.
How does the Springs scene compare? It doesn't. I'm going to Denver to see The Police, and I'll see Genesis there in the fall. There's nothing like that here.

Chiropractor What's the coolest local hangout? Front Range Barbeque in Old Colorado City. They have varieties of live music, the setting's great, the food's good.
What's the best music scene you've experienced? Santa Cruz, California, a hip college beach town with a quaint feel to it, sort of like Colorado Springs.
What's your best-ever concert? Simon & Garfunkel at Oakland Coliseum. The crowd was a little older, and I'm a major Paul Simon fan.
What's your record for nights out in a row? Four, maybe five hanging out with friends one night, an event the next, a party the next ... nothing planned.

Lawyer What's your favorite Springs hangout? I recently saw a good rockabilly band at a new place called Rocket Room on [Pueblo Avenue]. A gallery called Rubbish is pretty cool, too.
What's the best musical scene you've lived in? The punk rock scene in New York in the early '80s. I lived just a few blocks from CBGBs.
What's your best-ever concert? Probably Flipper and Black Flag at CBGBs. No, no wait The Talking Heads at CBGBs. They were way more intense and edgy live than they are on record.
What's your most memorable overindulgence? Cancun during spring break in college. Five or so days of that, and you start getting the shakes.
