When artistic director and choreographer David Taylor was inspired to create a dance performance about a tropical rainforest, he wanted just to illustrate the circle of life Taylor has lived in Denver for more than 40 years and has professionally choreographed for about 30. He and his company, the only professional contemporary ballet company in Colorado, received the Governor's Award for Excellence in the Arts 10 years ago.

"The most important thing to take away from this performance is how unbelievably, invaluably important tropical rainforests are on a human level," Taylor says. "It's absolutely, without a doubt, one of the most magical, beautiful places in the entire universe."
