Shot entirely in the Salida/Chaffee County area, Get Goosed is a family film about an elderly Native American man and his best friend -- a Canada goose. The community rallies when federal bureaucrats try to take to goose away from George Mason, played by John Pahe. Written and directed by Charles Newcomb. The first-ever screening will be a fundraiser for Salida's Steam Plant arts center, the Arkansas Valley Humane Society and Crime Stoppers. Tickets are $5.

Holly Hunter stars as Tracy's hard-working, ex-alcoholic mother, wrapped up in her own problems. Co-star Reed co-wrote the script with director Catherine Hardwicke. Lots of buzz about this contemporary coming-of-age flick.
