Billy Bob Thornton stars as a swearing, uncaring drunken mall Santa who, along with his fake elf/midget sidekick, plans to knock over the mall safe once the insipid Christmas season Santa-ing is over. Directed by Terry Zwigoff (Crumb, Ghost World). Also stars Bernie Mac and the late John Ritter. Not a children's movie. Be warned.

A frontier doctor (Cate Blanchett) is reunited with her estranged father (Tommy Lee Jones) following the abduction of her teenage daughter by a renegade Apache in this adaptation of Thomas Eidson's novel, The Last Ride, directed by Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind).
