Personal best

Whether it is the view of Pikes Peak and friendly people or the suburban sprawl and religious fundamentalism, everyone has likes and dislikes about living in the Springs. For more, check out this year's 10th anniversary Best of Colorado Springs, beginning on page 29.

Everybody is always friendly around here. - - What is the best reason to move away? It gets too cold sometimes. But then again, it's Colorado weather, so if you wait five minutes it'll probably change. - - What is the best thing about President Bush? Probably the Iraq situation and how he's taking care of it, or trying to at least. - - What is your best attribute? I really like to play lacrosse, so I guess I'd say the fact that I like to be athletic and do things outside. - - What is the best thing about your significant other? When she cooks breakfast. She makes the best damn eggs in the whole entire world. -

People are really friendly. Like one time I went into a shop because I needed hanging supplies for a friend's painting that was going into a Business of Art show and the lady just hooked me up and helped me out with everything. There are a lot of independent shop owners that are very kind and excited to help people out if you're into what they are into. I like walking around downtown too. It's kind of a quaint downtown but I like it. - - What is the best reason to move away? There are some elements of the Springs that make me uncomfortable. Like Focus on the Family, obviously. I don't feel comfortable expressing a lot of my views. I feel nervous and feel like I have to keep quiet until I can trust people. - - What is the best thing about President Bush? His fashion sense. I think he has a really great sense of minimalist color and thought. Definitely his minimalist thought. - - What is your best attribute? My pink leather jacket. - - What is the best thing about your boyfriend? His hair and his housetop eyebrows. He has really crazy curly hair. -

I have only lived here for a couple of weeks, but the best thing I have found is that I went out on a Tuesday night and found some live entertainment. - - What is the best reason to move away? None. For me there is no reason to move. - - What is the best thing about President Bush? I guess it is respectable that the man is able to keep a straight face while condoning and justifying his actions lately. - - What is your best attribute? My smile. - - What is the best thing about your significant other? He is a nice and caring person and he is very handsome. He has the most beautiful brown eyes. -
