Consider it a warm-up for the community-wide, post-fire party that so many people are envisioning these days. Not so much the 72nd annual Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo Parade itself, which kicks off four days of rodeo-related events (coloradospringsrodeo.com) by sending animals, soldiers and cowboy hats down Tejon Street. But the "downtown street dance" afterward, which will feature the classic rock and country covers of local band Chute Nine. Money from parade entries and the parade program goes to scholarships for families of fallen or wounded soldiers, but watching, cheering and two-stepping are all free. — Kirk Woundy
