Playing Around: Sinister Creed

In order to help you, the reader, fully understand that which is Sinister Creed, an actual, honest-to-Allah quote from the band's fact sheet:

"Style: Death Metal. Influences: Rush, Black Sabbath, Morbid Angel, Cradle of Filth, Cannibal Corpse. Song Topics: aftermath of a nuclear holocaust, disembodied spirits that refuse to go away, the rape and destruction of the earth, etc..."

Now, certainly you can imagine that this band is mildly hard-edged, and perhaps a little rough. But that's no reason to shy away from Sinister Creed! C'mon, live a little. Try new things. Meet new people. Guitarist Jeff Hladek, drummer and vocalist Dave Adamson, guitarist and vocalist Eddie Lawrence and bassist Jerimie Roberts are really a bunch of nice boys who have put a lot of effort into their new album, Divine Lies. Sure, they've been described as "melodic death," but that sounds like a fairly nice kind of death, doesn't it?

In the words of Deniece Williams, let's hear it for the boy(s) who are set to perform selections of their new work on Tuesday night, at a fun-filled party with their friends, Deicide (yes, the Deicide) and Vital Remains. See you there!
