Playing Around: The Great Redneck Hope

Always combustible, The Great Red Neck Hope will bring their trademark whiplash thrash to H.W. Briggs tonight for a St. Patrick's Day Leprechaun launch. TGRH, who got their name from one of the Ernest movies, stunningly and incomprehensibly howl through tenderly broken song lyrics with titles like: "We Put the Gay Back in Gangster." There's lead-singer Derek (who's whipping spasms of dance actually caused him to break his back) with one hand tucked behind his back, Jeremy with his Rasputin stare and geetar hurl, Aaron with his triumphant one-arm bass face, and Dan the man-planet punishing the drums. Don't miss these guys. It's unlike ... everything.
