Two Benefits for Symphony MusiciansThe Gardens, 2945 Galley Road Sunday, Feb. 9, 5 p.m. $5 597-2900 Jr's, 3535 N. Carefree Sunday, Feb. 9, 5 p.m. $5 597-9400

Two benefits, same beneficiaries, same night. Blues and rock musicians are showin' their fellowship and love for Colorado Springs Symphony musicians tonight in dueling benefits. If you read the cover story (p. 17), then you know that the CSSO musicians have lost their already paltry salaries (averaging around $13,000). Needless to say, those who have kids and don't have other jobs are suffering the most. The fact that the musicians also just recently lost their Jan. 31 paycheck has definitely compounded the situation. Rikki Dee Hall and the Voodoo Hawks, are, improbably, playing at both benefits. The lineup at The Gardens so far includes Velvet Jesi, Mind's Eye and Gypsy Groove. At Jr's you'll see The Benders, Johnny Graves and the Blue Waves, and Neighborhood Bully.

All proceeds will go directly to the musicians.
