Me and Julio
Sonterra Grill, 28 S. Tejon St.
Every Friday from 8 p.m. to midnight. No cover. 471-9222

When you order salsa, do you like it "hot" (and by "hot," we mean "spicy")? When you listen to music, do you like to "feel it" (and by "feel it," we mean "feel it")? If so, Sonterra Grill -- downtown Colorado Springs' newest gourmet Mexican restaurant -- has a flavor-packed Friday night for you! While you feast on their flex-Mex entrees and enjoy exotic drinks such as Corona and Jos Cuervo, Me and Julio (John Stone = Me and Julio Garcia = Julio) will be kicking out exotic aural entrees from Cuba and other Latin American countries. Garcia, an migr from Cuba, has played with Orchestra Sabroso for the past five years. Stone, a local, has played with bands like the John Stone Project, Tim Finnegan and several other bands featuring his last name. One way or another, you can be sure you'll be hearing a sound comprising flamenco leads and Cuban rhythms (a style they're calling "son moderna") every Friday night at Sonterra Grill. Chill.
