32 Bleu, 32 S. Tejon St. Monday, July 26, at 9 p.m. $15 in advance, $17 day of show 955-5664 Emeril isn't the only one who can add a little spice to your life. The hip-hop/punk hybrid group Kottonmouth Kings is on its "Fire It Up" tour and will be rolling through downtown at 32 Bleu on July 26 with guests OPM, Big B, and Strawman. California natives, Kottonmouth Kings' fifth and latest album, Rollin' Stoned, with its first single "Positive Vibes," continues the band's love for all things genre-hopping and heavy-lidded. They define their sound as "psychedelic hip-hop punk rock," a classification that doesn't make any sense until you listen to it. More than anything, it's fun: Take a little Slim Shady, stir in some Blink-182, and add a heapin' portion of "Dude, we totally all need to get along" lyrics and you start to get the idea. While cathartic and aggressive, MC and producer Brad X says, "It's all about positive energy, positive vibes, and creating your own reality." Kottonmouth Kings proves that what the world needs now isn't "love, sweet love," but love and some sweet slam dancing.
