MTV Rocks the Vote
32 Bleu, 32 S. Tejon St.
Monday, Sept. 6, 7 p.m.
$6, 955-5664

MTV's Rock the Vote has encouraged young people to get involved in politics since 1990. The campaign is simple: The youth vote (the market-friendly but politics-phobic 18-24 demographic) hangs out at concerts and parties, so MTV comes to them and educates them in the process. Colorado Springs will put the rock in Rock the Vote at 32 Bleu on Monday night. Denverite punkers The Swanks and Stoli and the Beers will rock the house along with local favorites The Mansfields, JJ Nobody and the Regulars, and Airsick. If that's not enough to make you bang your head all the way to the polling booths, remember that representatives of MTV will be filming the event and including it in their daylong special scheduled to air right before the November election. Speakers and representatives from across party lines also will attend.
